At Distinctive Jewelry Design, we love the pieces we design for you and want you to enjoy them for generations to come.  Our designs will retain there original beauty and luster only if it is properly cared for.  Many methods of cleaning are used to care for different jewelry but when it comes to your beautifully handcrafted pieces, it is our goal to educate you in this area. To help keep your jewelry clean and maintain it’s luster, gently wipe off residue with a soft 100% cotton cloth after each wearing.  Never use abrasive cloths or brushes, as they tend to cause scratches.  Should your Jewelry develop a buildup of residue or becomes dull in appearance, soak in a mixture of warm water and a few drops of a mild liquid soap for approximately 3 minutes.  Rinse and dry thoroughly.  Store in pouch provided. Soaking jewelry designed with soft or porous stones such as Turquoise, Opals, Coral, Lapis Lazuli or Pearls, is not recommended.  Soaking may damage the finish on these stones or cause discoloration.  Instead, simply wipe down with soapy water or an untreated polishing cloth. NEVER use Strong soaps, Detergents, Ammonia, Bleach or jewelry cleaners containing these ingredients.  Also avoid cosmetics, hairspray, Lotions and household cleaners.  These items can definitely discolor some of the stones used in our jewelry.  Do not wear jewelry while applying Makeup, showering, household cleaning or in swimming pools or hot tubs.  Simply put…your Distinctive Jewelry Designs should be the last item you put on to start your day and the first item you take off when you end your day.
